There is no substitute for each person, family, community doing its own study.Since you asked my opinion, no, Torah has not changed in any dramatic sense. Depends on the type of mioissn trip.For starters, it’s illegal to solicit others on the street to convert to another religion. Whether it be Christianity, Islam, or even Judaism. Privately, it’s obviously okay, but it’s not something allowed in the public sphere.If you are doing the type which is more like building an orphanage or hospital, like I commonly hear from others who do such in Latin America, then that’s fine.The active and violent reactions come from the more religious spheres, which are kinda secluded in their own spaces. In Jerusalem, you might get close to some, but everywhere else you’d know that you don’t have much of a chance converting anyone. And it’s less active and violent as it is yelling and screaming, which is scary but mostly you’ll be fine physically. Messianic Jews do experience some discrimination in Israel. It’s not that bad, and they live fully functioning lives. The problem is the word “Jew”, which other Jews don’t like them using. For starters, there is the idea that Jews don’t worship Jesus, and it’s a dividing line, so they just aren’t Jews to begin with. Nonetheless, most Israelis are perfectly fine with them, so there really isn’t to worry about.Once again, don’t actively seek out converts and proselytize in Israel, since it’s illegal, but for whatever reason you are there, it’s always a good idea to tour the Holy Land anyway.References :

I’m glad that you were able to ask this quisteon, though disappointed w/ the answer.Perhaps an open letter to N.T. Wright on the basis of The God Of Israel and Christian Theology’ is in order. I would love to hear/see his thoughts on what Soulen offers up in this book.My overarching problem with Wright’s view is that it ultimately calls for the disintigration of the wonderful cultures that God has established here on earth.Sure, on a micro level we can make it specifically about Judaism, but the jewish culture isn’t the only one that God has created.An ultimate homogenization of all peoples is not what I think God is moving toward Jon

The only time that the Jews regained control of the Temple mount since the Roman expulsion of the Jews was in 1967. Since the Mashiach hasn’t arrived and the state is a secular one rather than one under Torah law, it has avoided starting a massive war with the entire Muslim world by demolishing Al Aqsa mosque and the dome of the Rock. There are those who would like to see this done, the vast majority of Orthodox Jews agree with the governments actions as the potential loss of life in such a war could well end up putting the entire Jewish people at risk. As such, we await the Mashiach to know when the time will be right

Why doesn’t Israel rebuild the Temple and restart the sacrificial system? It seemed at one time, and my history may be wrong, the Israeli’s had control of the Temple mount, why did they give control back to the Muslims?

To the poster of the above comment- you seem confused by the purpose of this site: I am an Orthodox Jew OPPOSED to the deceit and deception of “messianic judaism”. Under no circumstances will I encourage or support any “messianic jewish” movement, nor will I support the providing of holy objects to such a community where their usage would be a desecration of G-d’s name. As such, your contact details have been removed as this site will NOT beused to slicit such materials for the purpose of being misused by “messianic jews”.

I let this comment through for a number of reasons- the primary oe being that it illustrates very clearly one of the tactics ot the “messianic jews”- relabelling the Christian elements of their belief into Hebrew to try and make it seem more Jewish. Thus we see him quoting Yochanan instead of “John”- after all, everyone recognises John as Christian, thus the need to alter it to try and hide its Christian origin. We see the reference to “Yahshua HaMashiach” instead of Jesus Christ. In the quote from John we see the replacement of “God” with “Elohim to try and make it sound more Jewish. Wde see the usage of “Ruch Hacodesh” instead og the “Holy Spirit” and so on. Unlike some, however, this one clearly labels itself as being affiliated to the Christian community, even while trying to take on the trappings of Judaism making it a more honest group than most.

Scripture gave a clear cut description that YHWH Elohim is ONE, IN ONENESS, but with many prophecies !

- Bibles in Hebrew/ English transliteration, please please please, to help us walk accordingly to YHWH’s wish, according to YHWH’s strict ordonnances and convenience, and with no compromise.

- Some blue and black lines coloured prayer Shawls for me,my wife and my two children, because the one I had alone and which was serving for all of us, is so old,and getting in pieces.

- A hand and front teffilins.

- Stil if possible,an hebrew and Aramean Bible in MP3, for I do not know how to read in those sacred languages, as I would so much like to.

- And finally, an Israel and Jerusalem flag, with any other items, concerning Israel, judaism and messianism

Please dear brethren, don’t get angry about my asking you of these items,they can’t be available here in Africa,and I am quite poor to travel to israel actually,to get them.

Our ministry consists of Torah obedient believers in Messiah Y’shua , that is teaching believers about Elohim’s (God’s) truth found in His Son Messiah Y’shua and in His Torah, and are walking it out in their lives daily to the best of their ability.

Here are a few details about us :

We have in-depth Torah studies on Shabbat following the Torah service and fellowship meal where we dig into the weekly portions to find His will for our lives as we strive to live Torah obedient lifestyles. This is also a time where we can ask questions about the Messiah Y’shua, the Torah, the Torah obedient lifestyle, or other issues facing us as believers and together find the answers from His Word.

We believe that the Scriptures were written to help us live better lives that please our Father. The Torah is our instruction manual that shows us how to live righteous lives for Elohim. So Ro’eh Mordechai ben Yisrael (Ro’eh simply means shepherd or pastor and is preferred over the title rabbi) takes the Scriptures and tries to communicate it in a way that is relevant to our daily lives.

In our services, what is worn should be respectful to HaShem and in keeping with what you would deem appropriate if you were to going to meet an important dignitary, because we are coming into the presence of our Creator and the King of kings and considering the state of poverty so common in Africa in general, our restrictions are less accentuated, but not abandonned.

You will see some people wearing traditional tunics and caftans, some dress up, and some dress slightly more casual.

We keep the Laws of Niddah (Laws of Family Purity) as found in Elohim’s Torah. For a clearer understanding on this subject and for some basic guidelines, please click here to read our position on this issue.

We believe Torah teaches that men and boys over age 13 should wear a kippah or some other type of covering (hat, beret, etc), and married women should wear headcoverings (scarves, snoods, hats, or other types of headcoverings) to show that both the men and women are under proper authority. (Single women, girls, and boys under 13 need not cover their heads unless they desire). Because of the Torah instructions of YHWH (Adonai, The Lord), we ask that all men and women wear headcovering when attending our services and events. We have some headcoverings available for those who do not have one, or forgot yours. (We also need some kippots for men and scarves for the women). If one forgets to wear a headcovering, someone will discreetly remind him or she, so he or she can comply with Elohim’s instructions.

We meet on the Sabbath Day (Saturday) .

We have a time of food and fellowship between our Torah Service and our Scripture studies to refresh ourselves, and get to know one another better.

We let peoples feel free to bring something with them to eat and share. We try to eat Scripturally kosher foods, and ask that all foods are prepared ahead of time before Shabbat so no one is cooking on the Shabbat.

We want people to feel comfortable coming to learn about YHWH (Adonai, The Lord) and their Hebraic roots and to experience His love and shalom (peace).

We also want to teach people about proper Torah obedience and the proper respect for YHWH, Messiah, and His Torah. We want people who come here to feel at home.

One of our most important condition is to belong to our prayer group, Africans United for Israel(AUFI), where we INTERCEDE FOR THE STATE OF ISRAEL, pray for THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM and the MIDDLE EAST, and support Israel with no condition or compromission,to any situation it might stand, politically, economically, or spiritually, for Israel is the land of our Prophets, the land of our saviour, and the Holy land of YHWH, our God.

Praise YHWH, we give thanks to Him for the gift of salvation He gave us through His Son, Messiah Y’shua.

This comment is typical of that of the “messianic jews”. Nowhere do I state that “messianic judaism” is illegal. against the law or that the civil authorities shoudl take any action agaunst them whatsoever. However, in an attempt to turn the atatckers into the victim, the typical tactic of the “messianic jews” is to throw out red herrings, to claim that somehow I am trying to deny them their rights. The exact opposite is, of course, the truth. the “messianic jew” is hoping that their accusation will make me feel all guilty and have me quavering at the accusation that I am tryign to deny them their rghts. I am not denying anyone their rights- the only ones trying to deny rights to others are those like Messianic Jew here who is tryign to silence me with false accusations!

So first the insinuation that I am tryign to deny them their rights, then the accusation that the posts are “filled with half-truths and outright falsehoods”. Of course no specifics are given- if they were, then the accusation could be shown to be false since any accusation I have posted here has been supported by screenshots of the people involved exhibiting the exact behaviour being blogged about.

Bottom line, sadly all tat this cmment shows is the tactics utilised by the “messianic jews”- lies, insinuations and false accusations against those who expose them for what they are.

Is there any common ground? Do we have any problems? Nope- Jews share nothing with the deceitful missionaries in the “messianic jewish” movement. Our problem IS the “messianic jewish” movement with their disgusting tactics, their lies, their deceit, their bait and switch scam

Please be aware that Messianic Judaism stands against racism or discrimination of any kind. We cannot answer for what is done in other countries, but the Constitution and Bill of Rights guarantee freedom of religion and it says nothing about being limited to traditional Judaism only.

I promise you that entire body of Jews around the world are not in any danger of being converted to Messianics, nor do we have any need having Yeshua return if we were to do so!

The comments that you’re posting here are filled with half-truths and outright falsehoods that only serve to stoke fear and hatred of people who are different. They are dangerous and divisive at a time when what we need to do is come together to solve our common problems.
